5.4.20 – Weekly Update from Brian Hetherington

Dear Colleagues and Clients:

We continue to manage against our operating guidelines during this crisis and our transition to the new normal:

1. Continuity of client service and delivery.

2.Fortifying client and colleague relationships

3. Sustainability – of our work and company

4. Adjusting expectations and planning accordingly.

With the continuity of client services and delivery being one of those guidelines, we are delighted to welcome new clients that select ABD as a partner to manage risk and manage the employee experience. Our deep knowledge in construction and maritime along with our expert HR Advisors continue to bring new business to ABD for which we are proud to be selected as their partner for tomorrow’s business needs.

We were also reminded of the Sustainability of our company with the terrific honor of winning the #4 spot in Best Places To Work in the Bay Area. Considering the fact that we moved up into the “Large Company” category of 250-500 employees, and the steep competition, our score of +91 is quite an accomplishment. Also, interesting to note that our top 3 words describing ABD were consistent: Flexible, Challenging, and Fun – although FUN nudged out Flexible this year as the top word of choice. Well done!

More important today than ever, ABD remains connected in this global environment. The Worldwide Broker Network was supposed to have the global conference next to RIMS in Colorado last week. The organization pivoted to have a virtual conference – with 115 countries represented and has become the 3 largest global network in the world. The whole WBN community was able to have more participants in the conference for specific sessions because of the use of technology. In many ways, it was a great reminder that the clients we serve and the partners we have chosen are making a difference locally, nationally, and globally.
