In 2021, Dana George found herself leading tenuous negotiations between one of her clients and their insurance carriers after a claim fell into a gray area, leading to both carriers to initially deny coverage. Through painstaking and rigorous discussions led by Dana, one of the carriers ultimately agreed to cover the claim, and to update the ambiguous policy language that had caused the discrepancy in the first place.

It’s stories like these that influenced Risk & Insurance to name Dana, Vice President, Life Sciences, as one of their Power Broker Finalists for 2021.

“Recognizing that insurance can be overwhelming to those who do not work in it day-to-day, Dana takes great care to educate clients on the options and consequences of various risk-management decisions,” said Cristina Varner, SVP/National Life Science & Healthcare Practice Leader at Newfront. “While insurance is often not glamorous and top-of-mind for many clients, Dana helps them understand that insurance is an important part of a robust risk mitigation strategy.”
