SAN FRANCISCO, CA, October 13, 2021 – Newfront is honored to announce our certification from the Centre for Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX), a division of Broadridge Fi360 Solutions (Broadridge). This certification is only granted by Broadridge to firms that demonstrate adherence to fiduciary best practices. It is a hallmark accomplishment for Newfront Retirement Services, as it signifies conformity to a recognized global standard of fiduciary excellence.
The “Prudent Practices® for Investment Advisors” handbook by CEFEX contains a standard that describes how an Investment Advisor assumes the responsibility for managing a client’s overall investment management process, which includes the selection, monitoring, and de-selection of investment managers, as well as developing processes to implement investment strategies and fiduciary practices on an ongoing basis. According to the Vice President, Centre for Fiduciary Excellence, Carlos Panksep, “Through CEFEX’s independent assessment, the certification provides assurance to institutional clients, that Newfront has demonstrated adherence to the industry’s best fiduciary practices. This indicates the firm’s interests are aligned with investors.”
“Newfront Retirement Services is proud to attain the CEFEX Certification. The CEFEX Certification, along with the dedication of our Newfront Retirement Services Team, shows that we are committed to rigorously managing our fiduciary practices. Our team has always focused on quality control and best practices, however we believe the benefit of an outside organization that can objectively audit and monitor these practices helps validate our commitment to fiduciary excellence with our clients and prospects,” said Chris Call, Newfront Retirement Services Practice Leader.
Newfront Retirement Services, Inc., is certified in services provided to ERISA DC Plans as a 3(21) Investment Advisor and 3(38) Investment Manager. Newfront is registered on this public page, where its certificate can also be viewed.
The standard is substantiated by legislation, case law and regulatory opinion letters from the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Uniform Prudent Investor Act (UPIA), the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (UPMIFA) and the Model Management of Public Employee Retirement Systems Act (MMPERSA) in the U.S.
A full copy of the standard can be downloaded from CEFEX at www.cefex.org and a summary can be viewed by clicking on Newfront online Independent Assessment Report.
