John McCall Joins ABD as Senior Vice President, Strengthening Growing Executive Risk Solutions Practice
SAN MATEO, CALIF. – ABD Insurance and Financial Services (ABD) announced today the appointment of John McCall as Senior Vice President within its national Executive Risk Solutions (ERS) practice. McCall, who has also been named ABD’s Financial Institutions and Fintech Leader, will advise clients on key aspects of risk management and corporate insurance programs, as well as execute broker negotiations and placement with underwriters.
“We’re pleased to welcome John to The ABD Team,” said ABD President Kurt de Grosz. “He has demonstrated a strong ability to advance and protect the corporate interests of financial institutions, fintech and tech companies throughout his impressive career. His addition significantly strengthens our rapidly growing ERS practice, enhancing our ability to serve clients at a time of heightened global uncertainty.”
McCall will report to Deirdre Finn, who was appointed in July 2020 to lead the ERS practice.
“John brings an invaluable combination of expertise in underwriting, advising and brokering, and he will play critical role in expanding the products and services available to our clientele,” said Finn.
McCall joins ABD from Aon, where he was most recently a leading producer focused on new business sales including insurance, health and benefits, intellectual property, and actuarial consulting, and before that was a Senior Vice President and Team Leader for the Financial Services Group advising clients of all sizes from start-up to Fortune 50 and broking management/professional liability insurance in the market on clients’ behalves. Prior to Aon he worked at AIG as Head of West Coast for Financial Institutions. McCall holds a B.A. in Finance and Marketing from the University of San Francisco, where he graduated summa cum laude.
“I’m honored to join ABD, which has a reputation both in the Bay Area and nationwide for delivering exceptional, highly personalized client service, and a culture focused on inclusivity and work-life balance,” McCall said. “I look forward to being part of The ABD Team and contributing all I can to its flourishing ERS practice.”
