With Black Friday and Cyber Monday behind us, holiday shopping season is officially in full swing. And while we’re undeniably excited for a month of spending, gifting, traveling, attending parties, and visiting with friends and family, here at ABD we’re most excited for a month of giving back to our community.
We’re kicking off our month of giving today, on Giving Tuesday, by reflecting on acts of service our team members are performing and highlighting our plans to give back this December.
This past year, ABDers participated in countless charitable opportunities, including the Family Giving Tree Back-to School Drive, the American Heart Association Heart Walk, Ocean Beach Clean Up and National Rebuilding Day, and volunteered their time with the Food Bank Group and the Warriors’ Learning Without Limits program.
We also hosted the ABD Annual Golf Tournament this past spring, which has raised over 50K for the American Cancer Society. We know that taking the time out of busy work weeks to give back isn’t always easy for our ABD team, so we’re especially grateful for their efforts this past year.
While we’re always proud to support our team in this year-long spirit of giving, this holiday season, we’re encouraging them to give even more. With the recent wildfires impacting our neighbors in Northern and Southern California, we’ve decided to match employee donations to the IICF California Wildfire Relief Fund up to ,500.
We’re also hosting a Holiday Wish Drive for Family Giving Tree. Through this drive, we’ll be sponsoring holiday wishes and gifts for people in our own communities, especially children, seniors and the homeless. There are so many reasons for us to feel grateful, blessed, and appreciative as we reflect on this past year, so we’re eager to pay it forward and extend this gratitude to our neighbors.
How do you plan to celebrate #GivingTuesday this year? Stay tuned – each Tuesday in December, we’ll feature ABDers and how they give back during the holiday season!
