Examination of Mercedes

Item: a 1995 black Mercedes 300S with 10,345 miles on the speedometer. Owner: Southwest Car Rental. Rented at the Albuquerque Airport by Arnold C. Post.

Traces of blood were recovered from the driver's side floor. The blood had been analyzed and matches the blood type of the deceased (O positive).

A .357 slug was recovered from the interior of the driver's side door. A permit to carry a .357 Magnum was recovered from the glove compartment. It had been issued in 1993 to Mr. Arnold C. Post.

An exterior examination showed a line of scratches and dents on the driver's side. These were not readily apparent to the eye and, in fact, had been masked by the application of black detail paint.

The Mercedes' undercarriage also showed signs of superficial damage -- a dented muffler pipe and general misalignment, but nothing that would prevent the car from being driven.

Southwest Car Rental claims the car was completely undamaged upon being rented to Mr. Post.
